Six Bangladeshis killed in Riyadh fire

At least six Bangladeshis were killed in a fire at a residential building in Al-Tuwaiq neighbourhood of Saudi capital Riyadh on Friday.
Confirming the incident, Golam Moshi, Bangladesh ambassador to theKingdom of Saudi Arabia, said: “Two officers have visited the hospital where the bodies are kept.
“The names of the deceased will be disclosed to the media after we confirm their identities.”
The fire broke out at the entrance of the building which has no other exits, said Maj Mohammed Al Hamadi, spokesman of the civil defence in Riyadh.
Smoke inhalation was the main cause of their death, he added.
According to the spokesman, 45 out of the 54 expatriate workers living in the two-storey building were inside it when the fire broke out.
An investigation has been launched to look into the incident, he added.
