AL set to celebrate Independence Day

Ruling party Awami League is set to celebrate the Bangladesh’s 48th Independence Day on Monday with a pledge to maintain the spirit of the Liberation War and build a “golden” country.
Awami League and its affiliated organizations will hoist the national flag atop of party offices and Bangabanhdu Bhaban at Dhanmondi 32 and will also decorate party offices with banners, festoons, and lights.
At 6am on this public holiday, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will place wreaths at National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar, followed by other leaders from Awami League at 7am.
A delegation from Awami League will pay tribute to the Father of the Nation by placing wreaths at his grave at Tungipara around 11am. To mark the day, Awami League will arrange a public meeting chaired by the prime minister at Krishibid Institution on March 27 at 3:30pm.
Awami League and affiliated organizations also chalked out cultural programs on the occasion.
The ruling party will arrange special prayers at all mosques, temples, churches, and other places of worship across the country seeking blessings from the father of nation and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for Bangladesh.
