96 Additional SPs promoted to SP

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday promoted 96 additional superintendents of police to the rank of superintendent of police (SP). According to an official circular of the ministry's security division, these officers were upgraded to Grade 5 from Grade 6 of the government pay scale. Earlier, the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of the ministry recommended to the higher authority of the government for their promotion. They would be posted to new places soon, the circular added.
