The food packages were distributed in cooperation with Bangladesh's Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya attended a distribution ceremony in Chandpur and handed out food packages each consisting of 20kg rice, 5kg lentil, 2kg sugar, 1kg salt and 2l cooking oil.
Bangladesh recorded one of the heaviest rainfalls in recent years in August. A number of low-lying districts were flooded, affecting thousands of people and hitting crop production.
