Regent Airways to help carry relief for Rohingya refugees

Regent Airways is set to provide facilities for carrying relief to Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar. Primarily, Regent will assist with carrying relief materials from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar. The airline has taken steps to provide facilities for carrying the relief through regular flights of its Boeing 737s. "We want to be on the side of the helpless Rohingya refugees, who fled their motherland of Myanmar to save their lives. So, we have taken steps to assist with carrying relief materials from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar," said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Regent Airways Lieutenant General (Retd) M Fazle Akber. He made the declaration while addressing a relief distribution event of the company. "Non-government organizations, volunteer organizations, any enterprise or person can take advantage of the facility from Regent to carry relief from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar. Besides, Regent is ready to carry the relief from government organisations or donor agencies," Akber added. In a press release, Regent Airways said it has been distributing relief among the Rohingya refugees in Ukhia and Teknaf in association with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). Regent has so far distributed 8 metric tons of food and Tk5 lakh in cash among the helpless Rohingya. Officials and staff members of Regent have also contributed to relief activities.
