Man killed in Mymensingh AL infighting

A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a factional clash of the ruling Awami League over establishing supremacy at Balipara in Trishal upazila on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Saiful Molla, 40. Golam Mohammad Badal, Balipara union parishad chairman and president of union unit Awami League, had long standing enmity with Abdul Bari, a convener of union unit Jubo League, over establishing dominance in the union, said Maniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Trishal police station. The supporters of both groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other following an altercation around 1pm, triggering a clash that left Saiful people dead and 10 others injured. On information, police went to the spot and fired five rounds of bullet to disperse them. The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
