Primary findings reveal that an Indian racket helped them intrude there and avail the cards in question
Six Bangladeshis hailing from Narayanganj have been arrested in the Indian state of West Bengal in possession of fake voter identity, multi-purpose Aadhar, PAN and SIM cards, reports the Anandabazar Paktira.
Primary findings revealed that an Indian racket helped them intrude and avail the cards in question they needed to get jobs in Saudi Arabia.
The raid was carried out at an apartment at the Green Park residential complex in Bandel, a neighbourhood in Hooghly district on Friday, to make the arrests.
The detailed identities of the arrestees were not revealed yet.
The apartment owner, Akash Das, facilitated the intrusion of the Bangladeshis, who were keen to find a better fortune in Saudi Arabia using fake Indian nationality, media reports suggest.
Even though it was not clear if Akash, a resident of Halishahar in North 24 Parganas district, was arrested later on, police were verifying if anyone else from Hooghly was linked to the criminal act.
Meanwhile, the Bangladeshis were put on seven-day remand by a local court on Saturday, with police probing if they have any links to militancy.
