Zoramthanga was earlier chief minister of Mizoram from 1998-2008
Mizo National Front (MNF) President Zoramthanga will take oath of office as the chief minister of Mizoram at the Raj Bhavan in Aizawl at 12:00pm local time on Saturday,Mizoram’s Protocol Departmentofficial confirmed.
“Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan formally invited Zoramthanga on Wednesday to form the next government after receiving the signed notification of the poll result from Election Commission officials who arrived at the Raj Bhavan late in the evening,” confirmed sources in the Raj Bhavan.
The governor also dissolved the seventh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday to make way for constituting the eighth.
Zoramthanga was earlier chief minister of Mizoram from 1998-2008.
He along with his party lost the Assembly polls in 2013.
Legislative Assembly polls were held in Mizoram on November 28. The results were declared on December 11. The MNF bagged 26 seats, thus sweeping the polls with a clear majority.
