Security has been tightened in Tripura ahead of the Durga puja festivals.
Durga Puja festival will begin from Monday.

Speaking to reporters in Tripura on Saturday, Akhil Kumar Shukla, and Director General of Police (DGP) said: “Around 9,900 Tripura police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel have been deployed, and along with that, Central Para-Military troops have been asked to maintain a close surveillance over the situation to avoid any untoward situation.”
“Several meetings were held with senior officials of police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police force (CRPF), Assam Rifles and Central Intelligence Agencies, to make the security arrangements,” DGP Shukla added.
The DGP further said: “BSF troops will also maintain a close vigil along India-Bangladesh border.”
The DGPalso added: “Quick reaction teams, bomb disposal unitsand dog squads will also be on standby.Around 100 watch towers, 230 CCTVs and 150 police assistance booths would be set up to maintain law and order.”
