The minister is due to discuss trade and other bilateral issues during the 5-day visit
Indian Commerce, Industry, and Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu is set to arrive in Dhaka for a five-day visit to Bangladesh.
Prabhu is slated to arrive at 6:10pm, with his delegation preceding him at 4:20pm, said an official.
The visit will see Suresh Prabhu discusstrade and other bilateral issues, reports UNB.
The minister, who was invited by Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, will also be meeting top leaders to discuss political issues.
The Indian minister’s itinerary includes a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Political Affairs adviser HT Imam at 9pm on Monday.
On Tuesday, Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shajahan Kamal will host a dinner alongside Tofail Ahmed to honour the Indian minister.
Prabhu is also due to attend a discussion on Bangladesh-India bilateral trade relations, with business leaders, on Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning, Prabhu is scheduled to meet Tofail Ahmed at the Padma State Guest House— which will be followed by a meeting with AKM Shajahan Kamal.
Prabhu will also meet President Abdul Hamid and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, separately, on Thursday.
The minister will then visit the Bangabandhu Museum, in Dhanmondi, on Thursday.
There is also a plan to take Prabhu to Bhola – Tofail’s constituency – as he wishes to visit rural areas.
The Indian minister will leave Dhaka on Friday morning.
