Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the Internet existed during the Mahabharata era and it is not a new invention.
The minister was speaking at a conference in Agartala on Tuesday, reports Hindustan Times.
Deb claimed that with the help of the internet, Sanjay the narrator relayed the episodes of the 18 day war in Kurukshetra to the blind King Dhritarashtra.
Sanjays’ lines prove internet, satellite and modern technology have been there from before, said Deb.
Deb also said technology has been in existence for more than a thousand years and that it was not invented by the Europeans.
The minister said technology belongs to Indians, not Europeans.
Deb also praised Prime Minister Modi for his role in making the Indian people aware of modern technology, which nobody in power could do before.
The cabinet ministers are lucky to have a leader like Modi said Deb, as Modi uses the internet to get updates and post comments.
While talking about the Public Distribution System (PDS), he said it will do proper justice for food distribution through electronic cards.
Deb further added, poor people should have access to internet, rather than it only being a tool for the rich.
Deb declared his newly elected government will make Tripura a model state in three years.
