Speaking on the camaraderie between India and Bangladesh, Biplab said: “Since the birth of Bangladesh, the Indo-Bangla relations have been very cordial. And it would be strengthened further.”
He added: “I was born in November, 1971 on the soil of Bangladesh itself. That is why I was named ‘Biplab’ [literally means ‘revolution’ in English].
“I’ll take steps for cementing the Indo-Bangla amity further. The honourable prime minister [Sheikh Hasina] has assured me cooperation for the development of Tripura.”
Biplab also put emphasis on enhancing commercial relations with Bangladesh during the event.Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a cultural program, held to mark Bangladesh’s Independence Day, at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Monday.
He said: “Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina is a mother-figure to me. Her mentality to serve the people inspires me immensely.”
“My first encounter with Sheikh Hasina was as BJP’s state president.
