Initially, the young woman and her family, who were following the baba for the last 15 years, were reluctant to approach the police, but after the conviction and sentencing of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, they decided to file a complaint against him. The family then met the Chhattisgarh DGP on whose instructions the zero FIR was filed and the matter was forwarded to the Alwar police. According to the FIR, the alleged crime had taken place on August 7 in Alwar, when the victim had visited the baba’s ashram to offer the first salary she had earned from her internship. Falahari baba had asked her to stay in the ashram for the night. Then he asked the girl to come to his room, where he allegedly raped her. After raping the girl, Falahari baba also threatened her not to disclose anything as he had connections with top politicians and police officers.
