Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina requested that the Indonesian government play a role in sending back Rohingya refugees to Myanmar, said the foreign secretary of Bangladesh on Tuesday.
"The Rohingya refugee issue is a big problem for Bangladesh and it needs to be resolved," said the Bangladeshi premier during a bilateral meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on the sidelines of the IORA Leaders's Summit at Jakarta Convention Centre, quoted BSS.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque, who was in attendance, confirmed that the refugee issue was discussed between the two leaders, adding that the Indonesian foreign minister recently visited Bangladesh and Myanmar over the matter.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, PM's Principal Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Bangladesh Ambassador to Indonesia Major General Azmal Kabir were also present at the meeting.
