Over 100 shoes were found at the fox’s hideout, but not the man’s missing running shoe
The mystery of a shoe thief who had flummoxed residents of Zehlendorf, Berlin for weeks has finally been solved after a man caught the culprit red handed.
The fox was strutting on a patch of wasteland with two blue sandals in its mouth, in clear view, according to the daily Tagesspiegel as quoted by BBC.
Over 100 shoes were found at the fox’s hideout, but not the man’s missing running shoe.
The man had suspected that the shoe thief may be a fox after bringing up the matter on a neighbourhood watch website. Other locals had also complained of missing shoes.
Tagesspiegel editor Felix Hackenbruch posted photos of the fox in question and the hoard of shoes on his twitter account.
