Bangladeshi family faces racist attack in Northern Ireland

Update : 04 Nov 2017, 03:03 PM
A Bangladeshi family has come under racist attack in Northern Ireland's Belfast. Police said a group of youths threw a brick at the house of Rahman family at 10:20pm on Thursday when a woman and a child were inside. But there has been no report of injury. Part of the window was boarded up and egg stains were found on a section of the glass, reports irishnews.com. Police are treating the incident as a hate crime. Belfast Lord Mayor Nuala McAllister condemned the attack and called for unity within the community. In a tweet, Belfast City Councillor Guy Spence said such incident was "totally unacceptable in our Community!” Last week, a Belgian man was injured in a similar incident. A couple of cars were torched in the same neighbourhood recently to pressurise another family of mixed race to move out. Around that time, a Syrian family reported to be victim of another racist attack in Belfast.
