Hague to host a book fair on freedom of expression
The book fair will include discussions, poetry readings and film screenings all pertaining to the fundamental human right of the freedom of expression. A discussion on “Freedom of expression, Dialogue and conflict resolution in Bangladesh” on February 27 will have Bonya Ahmed, wife of slain writer Avijit Roy, eminent human rights activist Sultana Kamal, blogger and founder of Istishon blog Nur Nobi Dulal and anthropologist and filmmaker Nasrin Siraj Annie as speakers at the discussion. A candle lighting vigil will be held in the memory of Avijit Roy and other slain Bangladeshi writers, publishers and editors on February 26 along with a discussion titled “Voices of dissent; persecuted non-religiosity and threatened religious diversity in Bangladesh.” During the Freedom Book Fair, publishers will present books from all over the world on the topic of freedom of expression.
