The world record of the fastest batsman to reach 1000 runs jointly belongs to five cricketers. West Indies great Sir Viv Richards was the first to reach the landmark in 1980 in 21 innings. Later, England’s Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott, South Africa’s Quinton de Kock and Pakistan’s Babar Azam equaled the record.
