The 29th national council of the ruling Awami League’s student front Bangladesh Chhatra League is likely to be held between March 31 and April 1.
Chhatra League General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune that they had made an initial decision in this regard during a meeting of the organization’s Central Executive Committee.
The meeting was held in the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury auditorium at Dhaka University on Friday afternoon.

“The dates are probable. We will announce the final date soon, after holding a discussion with our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” Jakir said.
In the meantime, Chhatra League President Saifur Rahman Sohag and General Secretary Jakir have instructed central leaders to take necessary preparations to make the council a success.
On January 6, when addressing a program on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of Chhatra League, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader asked the leaders of Chhatra League to hold the council by March.
"I discussed holding the council with our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She wants it to be held by March, the month of independence," he said.
