Three held with 100,000 yaba pills in Chittagong
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three transport workers on possession of 100,000 yaba pills in Chittagong. Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB 7 caught the three with the banned drug after stopping and searching a Relax Paribahan bus at the port city’s Bahaddarhat area around 3:30am on Sunday. The arrestees were identified as driver Rony, 35, helper Ashar, 19, and supervisor Sohel, 35. Mimtanur Rahman, senior assistant director of RAB 7, told the Dhaka Tribune that the arrests were made when they were conducting searches on buses at Bahaddarhat. He said the trio was later handed over to Chandgaon police. On September 25, two Rohingya men were also arrested from the city’s Firingi Bazar area for carrying the contraband drug.
