Barguna's indegenous Rakhine community have protested against the persecution of Rohingya people in Myanmar's Rakhine state.
Representatives of the community joined hands with other citizens to form a human chain at Sadar Road area in Taltali Sadar upazila in the morning on Monday.
About 5,000 people from all walks of life took part in the programme.
Addressing the programme, the speakers demanded that the United Nations plays an effective role to end the ethnic cleansing and mass killing of Rohingya people by Myanmar forces.
Taltali upazila Awami League President Rezbi-ul-Kabir Jomaddar, Taltali upazila BNP Convener Akkas Hossain Mridha and Rakhine community leader Mong Tahan were present on the occasion.
