Hillary Clinton compares herself to Wonder Woman

Update : 15 Jun 2017, 04:50 PM
Hillary Clinton compared herself to Wonder Woman in a “surprise video” which was screened at the Women in Film Los Angeles’ Crystal + Lucy Awards on Tuesday in Beverly Hills. The surprise video was a message from Clinton in honor of Elizabeth Banks - a Clinton backer, activist and producer - who was presented the Women in Film Crystal Award for excellence in film. Later on Wednesday, a Hollywood reporter posted the video on Twitter. After thanking Women in Film for the “commitment to lifting up women directors, producers, writers, composers and executives”, she wittily compared herself to the DC Comics superhero who is taking the box office by storm. She said: “Now I haven’t seen Wonder Woman yet, but I’m going to, in part because it’s directed by the fabulous Patty Jenkins.” “But something tells me that a movie about a strong, powerful woman fighting to save the world from a massive international disaster is right up my alley,” Clinton said. However, Clinton was not completely dissolved in talking about herself and continued talking about Banks. Clinton said Banks is a “special person, again, on screen and off.” “You’re not only a creative force in front of the camera and behind it, you are a passionate advocate for women’s equality and opportunity; I can vouch for that,” she added honoring Banks. Clinton even did not forget to refer Banks as a “passionate advocate,” for how Banks supported her during her campaign, reports The American Mirror. Elizabeth Banks mocked Donald Trump when she walked on stage to deliver her speech at the Democratic National Convention to Queen's "We Are the Champions” where Banks said how she learned something important about show business from Hillary Clinton during a Bill Clinton rally in 1922. https://youtu.be/a4jGEjJlyL4 Banks said Clinton taught her “a headliner should always watch out for someone stealing the show” and she added that “Hillary Clinton rocked my world”. Banks also mentioned Clinton as a “smart, committed, successful woman” adding that Clinton is a “fighter for women and children, cops and first responders, healthcare and girls around the world”. Clinton’s surprise video honoring Banks was equally flattering in which she said “I’m so grateful for your support and friendship and your sense of humor.” “I can’t think of a more fitting person to receive this distinguished award,” Clinton added. Later, Banks thanked the audience for the award, and spoke about how her feminist focus jibes with raising her two sons. Banks said: “I am so proud that I get to raise my two boys to love women. “I get to present an example of them of a working mom who loves what she does,” she said, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
