The peddlers brought the yaba tablets from Myanmar in a fishing trawler.
Teknaf Coast Guard Station Commander Nafiul Rahman said: “Coast guards suspected a boat near Saint Martin's coast on Thursday night. When we chased the boat, the peddlers fled, leaving the boat. Later, we found one lakh yaba pills after searching the boat.”
Coast guards searched another fishing trawler and found 50,000 more yaba pills. They also seized two boats used for yaba peddling and detained fifteen peddlers.
Meanwhile, BGB seized 70,000 yaba pills in two separate raids in two points of Naf River. However, they could not detain the peddlers.
