The prices of octane, petrol, diesel and kerosene might be reduced by Tk5 to Tk10 per litre, an official of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division told the Dhaka Tribune, seeking anonymity.
At present, Octane is selling at Tk89 per litre and petrol at Tk86, while kerosene and diesel at Tk65 a litre.
The Energy Division has prepared a proposal to cut fuel prices, which has been sent to the Prime Minister's Office.
The proposal had been given the green signal to reduce the prices, said the official.
According to the report, the prices of octane and petrol would be cut by 10%, while the prices of diesel and kerosene were to be slashed by 5%, he added.
Earlier, in April, the prices of octane and petrol were reduced by Tk10 per litre, while diesel and kerosene by Tk3 per litre.
