Doctor banned after racist remark about Michelle Obama

Dr Michelle Herren, an anaesthesiologist at Denver Health Medical Centre and professor at Colorado University School of Medicine posted a photo captioned:

“M****y face and poor ebonic English!!! There! I feel better and am still not racist!!! Just calling it like it is!”

Immediately after the post gained visibility on social media, angry emails flooded the university’s board.

After the good doctor was chastised by the public, she claimed she was not being racist at all and that her remarks were taken out of context. Moreover, she pleaded that she was unaware the term she used was racist.

Her employer, Denver Health Medical Centre has banned her from seeing any patients until further notice.

The hospital issued a statement where they expressed their grievance with Herren and admitted that although they wanted to terminate her on the grounds of her appalling remarks, the First Amendment prevents them from doing so.
