Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum in Tungipara of Gopalganj on Tuesday.
After placing the wreath, the premier stood in solemn silence for sometime as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
Later, flanked by cabinet members as well as newly-elected leaders of Awami League (AL) Advisory Council and AL Central Working Committee (ALCWC), Sheikh Hasina, also the AL president, laid another wreath at the grave of Bangabandhu as the party chief.
She later offered Fateha and joined a special munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage.
Sheikh Rehana, the younger daughter of Bangabandhu, also offered Fateha and took part in the munajat along with the prime minister and senior AL leaders.
Later, they attended a milad and doa mahfil on the occasion.
