Update : 27 Aug 2016, 09:07 PM
The three-room flat, where the law enforcement agencies carried out Operation ‘Hit Strong 27’ and killed three militants on Saturday, was rented in early July. The flat, situated on the north side of the second floor of three-storied building, was rented by three people, who said to had working with a pharmaceutical company, in early July, said the house owner Nuruddin Dewan. About the names of his tenants, he identified them as Rana and Murad, but he could not recall name of the third one. The tenants paid one month in advance and rented the house for Tk7, 000 per month, Dewan said. Tamim Chowdhury, the mastermind of Gulshan attack with alleged IS link, and two other suspected militants were killed in a drive at the house in Paikpara area of Narayanganj town on Saturday morning. “Sometimes I used to visit their flat, but nothing unusual appeared me. I have seen them relaxing or cooking food, but never found anything suspicious,” he said. The house owner came to know about the tenants' militant link only after police on Saturday morning had a meeting with him and informed Dewan about the militants hiding out in his house.
