Bangabandhu murder case plaintiff Mohitul Islam dies
AFM Mohitul Islam, a complainant of the Bangabandhu murder case, has died at a hospital in Dhaka on Thursday. He was 63. Mohitul breathed his last at 2:55pm at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, his nephew Mahbubul Islam Pitul told the Bangla Tribune. President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed deep shock at his death. Mohitul had been kept under life support at the ICU of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for last 28 days. He was a personal assistant of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. His first Namaz-e-janaza will be held at the hospital premise. According to his last wish, he would be buried in Jessore beside his parents' graves, said his nephew Pitul. Mohitul filed the Bangabandhu murder case on October 2, 1996.
