Later, his wife Joynab Begum registered a case with the Kachuya police station accusing 10 persons for killing her husband on the following day. Police had pressed the charge against the accused on January 31 in 2015 after investigation while a court of Chandpur had indicted the ten on January 6 in 2016. Later, the case was shifted to the Chittagong Division Speedy Trial Tribunal.
