Noman reluctant to carry on vice president post

Update : 08 Aug 2016, 09:57 PM
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)’s senior leader Abdullah Al Noman has expressed his reluctance to carry out his activities as a vice-chairman in the newly formed committee. When asked about his resignation from the post, the BNP leader told the Dhaka Tribune over phone that he would not resign. But he is not willing to work with running post. “Resignation is a different issue. I am not willing to carry out organisational activities in the current post,” he said expressing his reluctance to add anything more in this connection. Noman, who was also a vice-chairman in the immediate past committee of BNP, was hopeful for the post of standing committee member. Several leaders of the different strata of the party in Chittagong issued a statement demanding Noman’s inclusion in the party as a standing committee member on Sunday. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, on behalf of party chairperson Khaleda Zia, announced party’s 502-member committee on August 6.
