Businessman shot dead by muggers in Dhaka

A sanitary businessman has been shot to death by muggers in the capital’s Rampura.

The deceased is Ismail Hossain, 32, son of late Mustafa, said victim’s elder brother Abdul Mutaleb Mintu.

Mintu said a group of muggers numbering four to five shot Ismail at Natun Road area in Hajipara of Rampura around 2:45pm Sunday and took away Tk3 lakh from his possession, leaving him injured critically.

Ismail was on way to the local branch of Dutch Bangla Bank Limited to deposit the money, he continued.

Later, injured Hossain was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor declared him dead, said DMCH outpost acting in-charge Julhash Uddin.

Ismail, residing at Madhubagh of Ramna, was running a business ‘Bangladesh Sanitary’ in Rampura.
