The Inaugural Ceremony of the three-day long third International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering 2015 (ICAEE) was held at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) at the university campus on Thursday, December 17. A total of 90 papers have been registered from 11 countries from which three keynote papers will be presented in the conference. Dr M Abdur Razzak, associate professor of the School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS), IUB and chair of the organising committee delivered the welcome speech.
Dr Tawfiq-e-elahi Chowdhury, Bir Bikram, adviser to the Honourable Prime Minister of Energy, Power and Mineral Resources Affairs, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. In his speech he said: “Electrical Engineering is the driving force behind the recent technological development and the conference aims to exchange ideas regarding electrical engineering from all over the world.” Professor M Omar Rahman, vice chancellor of IUB was present as the chief patron.
Among others Dr Ferdinand von Weyhe, Charge d'Affaires, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangladesh; professor Shahriar Khan, interim dean, School of Engineering and Computer Science, IUB; professor Shaikh Anowarul Fattah, chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section; Engr Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan, president, The Institution of Engineers Bangladesh; professor M Rezwan Khan, vice chancellor, United International University, Bangladesh; professor Datin Dr Rubiyah Yusof, dean, Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia all spoke at the event. Dr Mustafa Habib Chowdhury, assistant professor of the School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS), IUB and secretary, organising committee, ICAEE 2015 delivered the thanking remarks.
Trustees, members of faculty and management and a good number of students attended the seminar.
