Okapia Mobile offering EMI purchase option for consumers

Okapia is quickly emerging as one of the top brands in Bangladesh’s smartphone industry. After a string of new models of varying configurations, Okapia is now set to reveal its latest models for the local market.

Considering the affordability for potential consumers, Okapia is going to start the EMI facility using the help of leading private banks including BRAC Bank, City Bank, DBBL, EBL, Prime Bank, UCBL and Standard Chartered Bank. They have announced that the banks have agreed to provide consumers an opportunity to buy Okapia mobiles using easy installment schemes at 0% interest using credit cards. The installments will be three, six, nine or 12 months long, depending on the needs of the consumers.

A grand event was arranged on Thursday, August 27, at Lake Shore hotel to announce this EMI facility. Shubroto Das, chairman, Md Tofazzul Hossain, managing director, Kazi Manzur Ahmed, general manager, Md Shahadat Hossain, national sales manager, Major (retd) Tariq Kaisar, head of corporate affairs, Kazi Faisal Ahmed, head of marketing, Monsur Ahmed, head of strategy and the team members of the marketing team and corporate sales team of Okapia were all present at the ceremony.

From The City Bank Limited, S M Mashrur Arefin, deputy managing director, Mazharul Islam, head of cards and S K Mehedi Zaman, head of merchant business were present. From Brac Bank, Firoz Ahmed Khan, head of retail banking and Toufiq Hassan, head of cards and payment were present. From DBBL, K Shamshi Tabrez, managing director and Abul Kasem Md Shirin, deputy managing director were present. From UCBL Rezaul Karim, e-banking proposition and branding e-banking business divisional manager and Sordar Akhter Hamed, executive vice president and head of retail business were present. From EBL, M Nazim A Chowdhury, head of consumer banking and M Khorshed Anower, head of direct banking were present. From Prime Bank Amir Hossain Majumder, senior vice president and head of cards, Farid Ahmed, senior AVP, Quazi Anwarul Azim, AVP, from Standard Chartered Bank MD Shafkat Hossain, head of retail products and segment, Mahiul Islam, head of marketing and brand were present.
