“We are satisfied with the World Bank report. But there is an evaluation committee of the United Nations. They need to formally recognise us as a lower-middle-income country and for this we have to wait three years."
Finance Minister AMA Muhith made the remarks in reply to a question at his secretariat office yesterday, following a meeting with Bhutanese Finance Minister Namgay Dorji.
“Suddenly, the network on my mobile phone died. I could not make or receive any calls at that time. I am quite sure my dues are not that high but they told me to pay it to get back to the network … All that time, I had to carry another connection. It felt like I lost connection with the world.”
Janubul Haq, whose GP mobile connection was completely network-dead from June 21 to 26, complained while talking to the Dhaka Tribune.
