You can always stay loyal to your warmer weather fragrances, but it's good to shake things up from time to time. And if you've already had an older version of at least one of these fragrances, then you'll feel more comfortable than you think when you try out the new.
A subtle seduction
Light Blue has been a go-to for many stylish gentlemen, since its introduction back in 2007. It's also become quite the fad for eau de toilette producers to add a little twist to an already fashionable winner. Dolce & Gabbana has presented yet another addition after its Discover Vulcano version of Light Blue. Swimming in Lipari (the newest version) takes the original citrus dominant formula and raises the level on grapefruit and rosemary. There's also a dash of aquatic elements like sweet ambergris and sea salt.
After winning the fragrance of the year in 2008, it remains a summer staple for a gentleman's wardrobe. It's good to know there's a cologne out there that will never let you down. It isn't overpowering, and it has the right amount of scent to make the ladies sniffing for more.
It's like walking along the beach in a tropical climate. Just remember to keep your shirt on.
The ol' gunner
Most of you were still hopping along in elementary when this classic made its debut. Davidoff Cool Water is well known all over the world. Their latest, Summer Seas Limited Edition, sticks true to its winning formula from 1998. Their trademark seawater and mint notes remain prominent, while a shot of mandarin and sandalwood makes this more summery than ever. This may be a little difficult to comprehend but this is the cologne's 18th limited-edition bottle and scent.
This masculine, grand-daddy of men's scents will always have to tinker a bit from generation to generation in order to have the loyalist return to the bay. Everyone is familiar with the original formula so there is no need for radical alterations.
Cool Water is the definition of a fresh morning slap in your face - in a good way.
Forever and ever
Calvin Klein's Eternity for Men Summer continues the tradition of slightly altering the ingredients and bottle elements every year. The original recipe had a prominent masculine scent, somewhat powerful in effect. Its 2015 version still has the strong salty sea notes, but it now possesses a sweeter touch to the original fresh fougere ('fern-like' in French) formula. They've spliced it with some pepper and added a good amount of grapefruit. However, the fig leaf, cypress and juniper berries is what sets it apart from older versions.
This scent is all about the relaxing day at the beach. There's a light and sweet, very uplifting, smell to it.
This goes hand to hand in losing all that excess fat, and getting in shape for the summer feel. You want to feel young again? There's no need to date or hang out with kids half your age, just apply some Eternity Summer.
Donna knows best
It still has its signature, skyscraper-like bottle design. However, there is now a pleasant green-blue colour scheme. DKNY Men Limited Edition Summer fragrance is for your everyday wear. There's quite an interesting mix of scents in the new bottle. It keeps the traditional heavy notes of tonka bean, incense and musk. Although, it's been lightened up with hits of juniper berry, sage and lavender. Mandarin orange and patchouli have also been added to make this cologne wearable on a daily basis.
It's supposed to carry the energy and intensity of the summer heat in New York City. And we all know the difference between their heat and well, ours here in Dhaka. Let's just thank the heavens we're not stuck in some rice field out in Vietnam. This scent is bold enough to be exhilarating and sweet enough to be sensual.
If you've got passion towards your career, this bottle has plenty of heart. So if you ever need a triple bypass, you know what to do. Go to the hospital.
