Mobile banking services have resumed after a 24-hour suspension for city corporation elections.
General Manager of governor secretariat AFM Asaduzzaman confirmed the resumption of mobile banking on Tuesday afternoon, reports BSS.
"As per an earlier decision, BB resumed mobile financial services immediately after 5pm on Tuesday and conveyed the decision to all banks and financial institutions concerned by telephone," said Asaduzzaman.
With the resumption of mobile banking, cell phone users would be allowed to top-up their phones through mobile banking, which was also suspended from 5pm Monday to 5pm Tuesday.
At the request of the Election Commission, the central bank on Monday suspended all forms of transactions through mobile banking till 5pm on Tuesday.
Earlier on the same day, BB put a ceiling of Tk1,000 on all types of transactions through mobile banking.
However, the central bank changed the decision later on the day and suspended mobile financial services for 24 hours.
