Police have rescued three workers of a brick kiln held captive by their employers in Dhamrai area of Savar on Monday night.
The workers are Al Amin, 20, a resident of Kaliganj of Satkhira; Moinul,22, and Aminul,18, both are from Shampur area in Bhola.
Officer-in-Charge of Dhamrai Police Station Firoj Talukdar said they rescued the workers from the brick field on secret information.
They used to work at the kiln named Stone Bricks in Amtola area, he added.
The official said 15 workers had been working at the kiln for the last two months. Nine of them had recently left their job and workplace due non-payment of their wages by the owners of the kiln.
The kiln's manager Md Bablu and its owner Asad kept confined forcibly the rescued workers to a room at the brick field for last six days, Firoj said.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection, the OC added.
Owners of the brick kiln could not be reached for their comments.
