Four killed in train accidents in the capital

At least four people were killed in separate train accidents in various areas of the capital yesterday.

Among the deceased, two are men and two women. However, the police is yet to identify any of them.

Police said, body of a man, 25, was discovered at the airport railway station around 2.30am. He was cut under the wheels of a Rajshahi-bound train. Sub Inspector of Government Railway Police (GRP) Ali Akhbar recovered the body. 

Another body of a female, 30 was recovered from the railway station near Dayaganj bridge of Narayanganj around 9.45pm of Sunday.

Assistant Sub Inspector of GRP Kuddus Fakir said: “It is primarily assumed that she fell under the wheels of a train. The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital's morgue for autopsy.”

ASI Fakir again recovered another body of a female, 35 from Moghbazar rail line area.

Meanwhile, around 12.30am a youth, 25 was hit by a train at Jowarsahara area. He was rushed to the Kurmitola Medical College and Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead. The body was later taken to DMCH.

GRP police station Officer in-Charge Abdul Mazid said they were trying to trace the relatives of the deceased.
