A Bangladeshi construction worker died after a concrete span had collapsed at the MRT site in Kota Damansara on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Elahi Hossain, 27.

The body of Elahi Hossain was recovered at 2:30am trapped under the collapsed span, Selangor fire and rescue department's operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said.

Two other Bangladeshi workers - Mohamad Faruk Khan and Mohammad Alauddin Mollik - are still missing in the construction site collapse, Malaysian state news agency Bernama reports.

The search was continuing for these two workers, said the rescue department official.

The three workers have gone missing after the 490-tonne span collapsed at 8:30pm on Monday.
