Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the loss of lives in a tragic launch capsize in the Padma river near Mawa of Munshiganj district.
On Friday, PM's Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhury said, Putin has sent separate condolence messages to President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports BSS.
The Mawa-bound launch 'MV Pinak-6' carrying about 250 passengers sank in the Lauhoganj channel in the Padma river on Monday.
As of Saturday afternoon, the death toll from the launch capsize has risen to 43.
The number of missing people is still 122 on the government list.
