Tuba Group workers who did not receive payment on Wednesday are taking partial dues on Thursday offered by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
On Wednesday, only 583, out of 1,458 workers, received the partial dues from the BGMEA, said BGMEA official Rafiqul Islam.
The remaining 875 workers are expected to receive dues on Thursday.
Payment distribution began at 9am and will be continued till 6pm.
Till filing of this report at 11am, some 60 workers have received the dues on Thursday.
Workers' presence to receive the dues are higher that that of Wednesday.
At least 1,200 workers from five factories under the Tuba Group have been on a hunger strike for ten consecutive days at Hossain Market in the capital’s Badda area, demanding the payment of three months’ wages, overtime and Eid bonuses.
