“Nekabborer Mohaproyan,” a government-sponsored film based on Nirmalendo Goon’s poem will be released on nine cinemas including the Star Cineplex, Balaka and Modhumita, today. Goon himself acted in the film narrating the story of his friend Nekabbor. The eponymous role is portrayed by Jewel Johur and Fatema is played by Shimla.
The film – directed by Masud Pathik – will feature popular actors like Prabir Mitra, Mamunur Rashid, Ashim Saha, Rehana Joli, Ehsanur Rahman, Begum Montu, Sohel Boyati, Masum Khan, Kashem Mal and many others.
About the film, the director said: “This cinema addresses many important issues such as awareness about the Liberation War, history of farmer’s revolution, lifestyle and practicality of villagers and others. I have tried my best to do proper justice to the poem.”
The music of the film has been directed by Belal Khan, Mushfiq Litu, Prince Mahmud, Saim Rana and Mahmud Selim.
