I live many roles in real life: Prosun Azad

Popular model and actor Prosun Azad who bagged the second runner up title in “Lux Channel-i Superstar 2012,” has established herself as a talented model and actor of the small screen. Moreover, her career is on a roll with her silver screen projects.

She has recently completed the shooting of her first film “Ochena Hridoy” directed by Shafiqul Islam Khan. Her second film “Sorbonasha Yaba” that addresses the derogatory  effects of yaba is almost completed. Dhaka Tribune caught up with the actor and talked about her future ventures and recent projects:

What you are up to nowadays?

I have already completed shooting for many Eid special programmes. Eid is always a busy time for us and I loved every minute of shooting for the Eid programmes. At present, I am working on Salauddin Lavlu’s Eid special drama series “Layek Chan the Great” and a telefilm “Protishodh.”

I am also preparing for my next films “Beiman” and “Raza Golam.”

Tell us about your take on acting and your experience.

I live for acting. My life is all about my work. I live many roles in real life as well. I believe that acting is such a career where you get to learn something new every day. Transforming your usual self into the character you are playing is not an easy task for everyone and that is how a star stands out from ordinary actors.

I have been singing and dancing since childhood and also participated in “Notun Kuri” competition. But, I always preferred acting. So I joined the competition to find a better platform for myself and now I am here today. I do not have any academic background in acting. That is why I always try to learn from our senior actors and my observation skills. I practice my script by standing in front of a mirror.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

I am hoping to develop my career as a successful actor and really looking forward to seeing myself as one of the best actors in Bangladesh, in ten years time.

Who is your dream character?

Susanna, from “7 Khoon Maaf” is my dream character.

Who is your favourite actor?

As an audience, I am fan of Suchitra Sen and Priyanka chopra.

Prosun Azad made her debut in the entertainment industry as an actor in the drama “Obokunthon” directed by Giasuddin Selim. Her participation in the “Lux Channel i Superstar Award in 2012,” brought her into the limelight. Her outstanding performance in “Double 420,” “Shohorer Notun Balika,” “Ekti Mrittur Shopno,” and “Talketive,”  grabbed the attention of the mass audience. She even worked as an assistant director with Giasuddin Selim for several TV plays.
