“BNP's dream of a change with BJP in power is building skyskrapers in the air”

Finance Minister AMA Muhith made the comment upon queries on whether ties between the government and India will be affected by the outcome of the recent Lok Sabha polls.

“It will be very difficult to implement such a large ADP. I have lots of doubt about the financial resources needed to implement this...”

Former finance adviser to the caretaker government Mirza Azizul Islam made the comment after the government approved Tk80,000 crore Annual Development Programme (ADP).

“I have decided to contest in the by-polls as an independent candidate. I will buy the nomination paper tomorrow...”

Rafiur Rabbi, father of murdered Tanvir Mohammad Twaki and an organiser of Narayanganj Ganajagaran Mancha, has said he will contest for the by-poll of Narayanganj 5 – the constituency of Shamim Osman.

“The army should withdraw its officials from RAB to protect its image. RAB's activities should be stopped immediately...”

BNP senior leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka made the comment and in wake of allegations rising against the elite force.

“... I do not know why the government sacked me. I have served the AG office as additional attorney general for five years and two months but never opposed any state order....”

MK Rahman, who was sacked from the position of additional attorney general, spoke after resigning from his post of chief coordinator of the prosecution of International Crimes Tribunal.
