Member of Parliament from Narayanganj 5 and Jatiya Party Presidium Member Nasim Osman has died of cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at an India hospital.
His brother AKM Shamim Osman, who is a lawmaker from the Awami League, told the Dhaka Tribune that Nasim had died of cardiac arrest around 4am.
Nasim has been receiving treatment at Dehradun Hospital in Kolkata for some period of time. “Preparations are underway to bring back his body in the country,” Shamim said.
Nasim Osman was elected an MP four times in 1986, 1988, 2008 and the most recent January 5 election this with Jatiya Party ticket.
He has left behind son Azmir Osman, two daughters and wife Parveen Osman.
