Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the country, has issued a circular asking all the scheduled banks to ensure at least one day off per week for the employees through internal coordination.
“The banks have to ensure that the officials enjoy at least one day off,” said the circular issued yesterday. The directive followed a previous order to keep the branches open even on the weekly holidays for the sake of public interest.
According to the circular, the banks have been instructed to keep the branches open today on a limited arrangement to carry out the cash and clearing related activities only, therefore, the officials need not be present at the office.
In another circular, banks have been asked to give priority to the executives who would have to attend the banking diploma examination scheduled for today.
