Bangladesh Bank on Sunday made a request to the police to enhance security for all the branches of various banks in light of recent political unrest.
Bangladesh Bank Director General AFM Asaduzzaman has sent a letter to the inspector general of police with a formal request.
In the letter it was mentioned that the recent violence has also created concern among individuals who are employed at the country’s banking service besides disrupting the banking activities.
It says the unprecedented incidents of assault, vandalism and arson in connection with the country’s unrest pose a serious risk to the banks.
