Yan Lee of Taipei produced a superb performance to win a double crown at the Bangladesh International Junior Tennis at the National Tennis complex yesterday.
In the final of the girls’ singles, the unseeded Yan Lee hardly broke a sweat to outplay her Uzbek rival Umarova Komola, the third seed, 6-2, 6-3. After her singles triumph, Yan Lee produced another majestic display in the doubles final. Pairing with compatriot Han Chi Chen, the Taipei duo beat Melisa Bekirova (UZB) & Luciana Rabines (USA) 6-1, 6-3.
Meanwhile top seed, Shamael Chaudry (GBR) beat Ko Shao Min (TPE) 6-2, 6-4 and Chen Tin (TPE) beat Ballekere Ravikumar (IND) 6-2, 6-2 in the two semi-finals of the boy’s singles at the same venue. The final will be held today.
It was a different story in the doubles as Nikshep Ballekere Ravikumar (IND) & Sahil Gaware (IND) beat Kareem Allaf (SYR) & Shamael Choudhur (GBR) 6-4, 6-4 and Chen Tin (TPE) & Chen-Shan Kuo (TPE) beat Zhansultan Chembolayev (KAZ) & Bolat Mamyr (KAZ) 6-3, 6-4.
