DBL Group, Beximco Pharma, Computer Source, Confidence Group, ICDDRB, Anowara Group, Apollo Hospital and Dhaka Tribune started their Marcel 3rd T20 Corporate Cricket campaign with victories at four venues across the city yesterday.
Dhaka Tribune registered a comfortable six-wicket victory over Chevron at the Bangladesh Military Museum ground. Batting first, Chevron were bowled out on 99 with Mazhar Uddin and Atiqur Rahman taking four wickets each. In reply, the Tribune reached their targets for the loss of four wickets. Opening batsman Syed Noor Anwar was named man-of-the-match for his unbeaten half-century.
In the day’s other matches, DBL (170/5) crushed EBL (174/2) by eight wickets with man-of-the-match Sultan Aminur Rashid scoring 95. Syed Adil Ahammed slammed a brilliant 102 as Beximco (214/7) handed Energypac (84/10) a 130 run defeat.
Computer Source (154/7) beat Square Group (84/10) comfortably by 70 runs. Man-of-the-match Rakibul Hasan made 51 for the winnings side. Confidence Group (175/7) edged Reliance Insurance (170/7) by five runs. Rezanul, who made 73, was named man-of-the-match.
ICDDRB (87/1) outplayed Philip Morris (86/10), Anowara Group defeated Bangla Cat and Apollo Hospital (132/5) thrashed Bando Design (131) by five wickets.
Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon inaugurated the tournament as chief guest at the Residential Model School and College ground.
