Mahfuzur Rahman Tushar, the first and only Formula 4 driver from Bangladesh, finally found a sponsor to support him in his sporting endeavors.
The F4 driver, who has been competing on the F4 circuit in India for one and half years while supporting himself, will be sponsored by Shah Cement in upcoming events. Tushar is scheduled to take part in the 16th JK Tyre Racing Championship in Delhi on November 27 and his helmet and the single seat open wheel car will brandish the words- “Shah Cement”. The cement company revealed the sponsorship deal at a press conference at the BOA auditorium yesterday.
Tushar, who won the Go-Kart championship in the country and is also a diploma holder of car engine maintenance, was looking forward to improve. “In the race track, the only motto is ‘go ahead’. I will try my best to leap forward and reaching the F1 is my ultimate goal. I thank Shah Cement for stepping forward as my sponsors,” he said.
Ahsan Jewel, the senior brand officer of Shah Cement, said promoting the youth of the country is one of the prime objectives of their company. “We assisted first Bangladeshi Everest conqueror Musa Ibrahim and now we have stood beside Tushar and believe he will open a new horizon. We will be beside Tushar in the upcoming days,” said Jewel.
BOA deputy secretary general Ashikur Rahman Miku said as there are no practice facilities for Tushar in the country, BOA may take initiatives to assist him in the matter.
Tushar said that in the F4 category, the highest speed is 200 and the engine is 1300 CC Maruti. Avalanche Racing is his team and he finished 11th among 22 participants in the last edition held in Chennai.
